Mission

The purpose of the Hudson Valley Youth Hockey Program is to provide the opportunity for children, ages 6-18 years old, to participate, develop, and improve his/her skills in the sport of hockey.

A high emphasis is placed on sportsmanship, team play, and respect of teammates, coaches and opponents. By enforcing this philosophy, it is the intent of the organization to build strong individual character.

History

The Hudson Valley Youth Hockey Program (Polar Bears), was founded in 1998, under the direction of Paul Lloyd. The Polar Bears skate out of Ice Time Sports Complex, Newburgh, N.Y.

In its inaugural season, the program provided teams at each level, Mites through Midgets. The Polar Bears program has since grown, from its original five teams, to the fourteen teams that competed during the 2006-2007 season.

Hudson Valley Polar Bears have enjoyed success at all levels of play, winning league championships, state titles, and several trips to national tournaments.
